Town Ducks

Our town, being a series of islands and canals in Lake Erie, is home to a vast number of ducks.  We love our ducks,. although the birds can become pests for the residents who feed them in their yards.

There are several different breeds and some intermingling of the breeds after all these years.  We also have a lot of geese, seagulls, and, sometimes, swans.  Our ducks don't migrate in winter since the Edison plant upriver keeps the water warm...most of the time.

Look at the babies. I just love nature. My niece works at a local museum here. There are plenty of ducks and babies in the spring. I really think the museum needs "duck crossing" signs.
