My granddaughter, age almost-3 won one of the 15 prize Easter baskets at the Egg Scramble, April 2009 the day before Easter. There were thousands of children there so it was quite a win for the wee one and she properly thanked the Easter Bunny.
When my Old Dear retired in 2002, the year after I retired, it was off to Florida for the cold winter months. Some of his relatives were there, and a house was waiting for us.
The wildlife and plants amazed me. In Michigan, having taught science, I knew most of the flora and fauna. Now it was all new. Who could have guessed there were SO many different palm trees? I am more cautious of the big birds than they are of me. The house is on a smallish lake with a mile-long wildlife preserve island in the middle. Every day there was some new bird or plant to identify. Books helped as did the Internet. Now I am sharing it all with you.
